SOCIAL MEDIA HOW TO
On Desktop (Web Browser)
[1] Log in to Your Facebook Account:
Go to facebook.com and log in with your username and password.
[2] Navigate to the ‘Create Post’ Section:
On your homepage or profile, look for the “What’s on your mind?” box at the top of your News Feed or on your profile page.
[3] Click ‘Photo/Video’:
In the “Create Post” section, you’ll see options like “Photo/Video.” Click on it to open your file explorer.
[4] Select Your Video File:
Browse your computer for the video file you want to upload. Select it and click “Open.”
[5] Add a Caption or Description (Optional):
Once the video is uploaded, you can write a caption, tag people, add a location, or include any other details in the text box.
[6] Adjust Privacy Settings (Optional):
Below the text box, you can choose who can see your post (Public, Friends, Only Me, etc.). Select your preferred audience.
[7] Click ‘Post’:
Once you’re satisfied with everything, click the Post button to upload your video.
On Mobile (Facebook App)
[1] Open the Facebook App:
Launch the Facebook app on your mobile device.
[2] Navigate to the ‘What’s on your mind?’ Box:
Tap on the “What’s on your mind?” area at the top of your News Feed.
[3] Tap ‘Photo/Video’:
In the menu that pops up, tap the Photo/Video button.
[4] Select Your Video:
This will open your phone’s gallery. Browse and select the video you want to upload.
[5] Add a Caption (Optional):
You can type a caption or description for your video, tag people, or add a location.
[6] Set Privacy (Optional):
You can set who will see the video (Public, Friends, Only Me, etc.).
[7] Post the Video:
Tap Post in the upper right corner of your screen to share the video.
On Instagram Desktop (Web Version)
[1] Go to Instagram’s Website:
Open your browser and go to Instagram.com.
Log in to your account.
[2] Navigate to the Post Button:
On the top-right corner of the page, click the + icon, which will open the upload window.
[3] Select the Video:
Click Select from Computer to browse your files, then find and select the video you want to upload.
[4] Write a Caption (Optional):
Add a caption, hashtags, and tag people just like on mobile.
[5] Choose Your Audience (Optional):
You can choose to share the post with Everyone or just specific users, depending on your account’s privacy settings.
[6} Post the Video:
Once everything looks good, click Share to upload your video.
On Mobile (Instagram App)
[1] Open the Instagram App:
Launch the Instagram app on your phone or tablet.
[2] Go to the Post Screen:
On the bottom of the screen, tap the + icon (usually located in the center).
[3] Select ‘Post’ Option:
You’ll be prompted to select what you want to upload. Choose Post to upload a regular feed video.
[4] Choose the Video from Your Gallery:
The app will open your phone’s gallery or photo library. Find and select the video you want to upload.
You can select videos from your phone’s camera roll, or you can record a new video by tapping the Video Camera icon.
[5] Write a Caption (Optional):
Add a caption for your video, and you can include hashtags, mention other users by tagging their usernames, or add a location.
[6] Choose Your Audience:
You can adjust privacy settings by choosing whether to share the video with Followers or set it to Private.
[7] Post the Video:
Once you’re happy with your video, caption, and settings, tap Share at the top-right of the screen. The video will be posted to your Instagram feed.
YouTube
On Desktop (Web Browser)
[1] Sign in to Your YouTube Account:
Go to YouTube and sign in using your Google account. If you don’t have a YouTube account, you’ll need to create one.
[2] Go to the Upload Page:
In the top-right corner, click the camera icon with a “+” symbol (also labeled “Create” or “Upload Video”).
[3] Select ‘Upload Video’:
Click on the Upload video option from the dropdown menu.
[4] Choose the Video File:
You’ll be directed to YouTube Studio. Click the Select Files button, which will open your file explorer.
Locate and select the video file you want to upload from your computer.
[5] Fill in Video Details:
Title: Enter a descriptive title for your video.
Description: Write a brief description of your video content.
Thumbnail: Choose or upload a thumbnail. You can pick one of the auto-generated thumbnails or upload a custom image (recommended size: 1280×720 px).
Tags: Add relevant tags to help people find your video.
Playlist (Optional): You can add your video to a playlist if you have one.
[6] Set Video Visibility:
Choose who can view your video:
Public: Anyone can see your video.
Unlisted: Only people with the link can view it.
Private: Only you and people you invite can view it.
Scheduled: You can choose a specific date and time for the video to be published.
[7] Video Settings:
Select the appropriate video settings:
Monetization (if applicable): Choose if you want to monetize the video (if your account is eligible).
Age Restriction: Indicate if the video is made for kids or not.
Advanced Settings: You can also choose to allow or disable comments, select language settings, and more.
[8] Click ‘Next’ to Add Video Elements:
End Screen & Cards: You can add interactive elements like end screens (to promote other videos) and cards (to link to related content).
[9} Click ‘Publish’:
After everything looks good, click Publish to make your video live. If you scheduled the video, it will be published at your chosen time.
On Mobile (YouTube App)
[1] Open the YouTube App:
Launch the YouTube app on your phone or tablet.
[2] Sign in to Your Account:
If you aren’t already signed in, log in with your Google account.
[3] Go to the Upload Page:
Tap the + icon at the bottom of the screen.
[4] Select ‘Upload a Video’:
Tap Upload a video from the options.
[5] Select the Video:
Your phone’s gallery will open. Choose the video you want to upload.
[6] Fill in Video Details:
Title: Add a title for your video.
Description: Write a description of the video content.
Thumbnail: Tap to choose or customize a thumbnail. If you don’t select one, YouTube will generate one.
Playlist: If applicable, add the video to a playlist.
Tags: You can add tags to help people find your video.
[7] Set Privacy Settings:
Select whether you want the video to be Public, Unlisted, or Private.
You can also schedule the video if you want it to be published at a later time.
[8] Choose Age and Content Settings:
Indicate whether the video is made for kids or not, and choose whether or not the video is age-restricted.
[9] Upload the Video:
Once everything is set up, tap Next and then Upload. The app will begin uploading your video to YouTube.
TikTok
On Mobile (TikTok App)
[1] Open the TikTok App:
Launch the TikTok app on your phone. If you’re not logged in, sign in with your account credentials or sign up if you don’t have an account.
[2] Tap the Plus (+) Icon:
At the bottom center of the screen, you’ll see a + button. Tap it to start creating or uploading a video.
[3] Select ‘Upload’ Option:
On the next screen, you’ll see two options: Record (for recording a new video) and Upload (for selecting a pre-recorded video). Tap Upload.
[4] Choose Your Video:
The app will open your phone’s gallery. Browse through your gallery and select the video you want to upload. You can select multiple clips if you wish.
[5] Write a Caption:
You can write a caption, add hashtags, and tag other users by using @mentions. Captions can be up to 300 characters long, so feel free to get creative.
[6] Choose Video Settings:
Privacy Settings: Choose who can view your video:
Public: Anyone can see it.
Friends: Only your followers can see it.
Private: Only you can see it.
Allow Comments, Duets, or Stitching: You can enable or disable options like allowing others to comment on your video, use it in duets, or stitch it.
[7] Add a Cover Image (Optional):
You can select a thumbnail or cover image for your video. TikTok will automatically generate a few options, or you can upload your own custom thumbnail.
[8] Post the Video:
Once you’re satisfied with the video, caption, and settings, tap the Post button on the bottom-right corner. The video will be uploaded to your TikTok profile.
X/Twitter
On Mobile (X App)
[1] Open the X (Twitter) App:
Launch the X app on your phone or tablet. Make sure you’re logged into your account.
[2] Tap the Compose Tweet Icon:
On the home screen, tap the tweet icon (a blue “+” button) at the bottom right corner to create a new tweet.
[3] Select the Media Icon:
Below the text box where you can type your tweet, you’ll see a media icon (a small image icon). Tap it to add media.
[4] Choose the Video to Upload:
This will open your device’s gallery. Browse and select the video you want to upload. You can upload videos stored on your phone or tablet.
[5] Write Your Tweet:
After the video is added, type your tweet in the text box. You can include hashtags, mentions, and links as usual.
[6] Choose Your Audience:
If you want to adjust who can see your tweet, tap the privacy option (you can select “Everyone” or “Followers” only depending on your account settings).
[7] Post the Tweet:
Once everything looks good, tap the Tweet button in the top-right corner. Your video will be uploaded along with the tweet.
On Desktop (Web Browser)
[1] Go to X’s Website:
Open your web browser and go to X.com.
[2] Log In to Your Account:
If you’re not logged in, enter your username and password to access your X account.
[3] Click the Tweet Icon:
On the left sidebar, you’ll see a Tweet button (usually represented with a quill icon or a “+” symbol). Click it to open the compose tweet box.
[4] Attach Your Video:
In the tweet composition window, click the image icon (it looks like a small landscape picture).
Browse through your computer files to select the video you want to upload. X supports video files in MP4 format and up to 512 MB in size.
[5] Write Your Tweet:
Once your video is uploaded, you can write a tweet to go along with it. You can include hashtags, mentions, and links.
[6] Set Tweet Privacy (Optional):
Choose who can view your tweet if you’d like to adjust privacy settings (Public or Followers only).
[7] Post the Tweet:
After reviewing your video and tweet, click the Tweet button to post your video to your X feed.
On Desktop (Web Browser)
[1] Log In to Your LinkedIn Account:
Go to LinkedIn and log in with your credentials.
[2] Navigate to the Post Section:
On your homepage or profile, click the “Start a post” field at the top of your feed, which will open the post editor.
[3] Click the Video Icon:
In the post editor, you’ll see several options such as adding photos, events, and articles. Click the video camera icon (or “Video” button) to upload a video.
[4] Select Your Video File:
A file explorer window will pop up. Navigate to the location of the video on your computer, select it, and click Open.
[5] Add a Caption (Optional):
Once the video is uploaded, you can write a caption or description for the video. You can also use hashtags, mention people, or tag a location.
[6] Set Audience (Optional):
Below the text box, you can choose who can see your post. You can select from:
Anyone (public)
Connections only
Group members
Only you (private)
[7] Post the Video:
After everything looks good, click the Post button. Your video will be uploaded to LinkedIn and shared with your selected audience.
On Mobile (LinkedIn App)
[1] Open the LinkedIn App:
Launch the LinkedIn app on your mobile device.
[2] Go to the Post Section:
At the top of your feed, tap the “Post” field, which says “Share an article, photo, video, or idea.”
[3] Tap the Video Icon:
You’ll see options to add photos, videos, events, etc. Tap the Video icon to start uploading a video.
[4] Select the Video to Upload:
This will open your phone’s gallery. Browse and select the video you want to upload. You can select multiple videos if necessary, but LinkedIn typically supports uploading one video at a time.
[5] Write a Caption:
After selecting the video, you can write a post caption to provide context or include hashtags, tag people, and mention your company if relevant.
[6] Choose Who Can See the Post:
Below the caption field, you can choose the audience for the post (such as Anyone, Connections, or Private).
[7] Post the Video:
Once everything is ready, tap the Post button in the top-right corner to upload your video to LinkedIn.
